Wagon lovers rejoice! The 2020 Audi A6 Allroad
has been confirmed for the U.S. This marks the nameplate's return after
a long absence. Last month, Audi hinted that we could be getting the
rugged wagon once again, and now the automaker has made it official.
Earlier this year, Audi also announced that the 591-hp RS6 Avant will be coming to the U.S for the first time.
When it arrives in the U.S., the 2020 Audi A6
Allroad will come with a generous list of standard equipment including
20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, interior ambient lighting, and a
Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system. The 2020 A6 Allroad will also get a
specially calibrated air suspension with six modes. Auto and Comfort
mode provides 5.5 inches of ground clearance, while Dynamic drops the
wagon's height by 0.6 inch. Off-road mode adds 1.2 inches of ground
clearance and Lift mode further increases that by 0.6 inch at speeds of
up to 21.7 mph. At its highest point, the 2020 Audi A6 Allroad has 7.3 inches of ground clearance.
The 2020 Audi A6 Allroad's powertrain specs are pretty familiar,
including a 3.0-liter turbo V-6 with 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of
torque. Like the A6 sedan,
this engine features a mild hybrid system featuring a 48-volt battery
system mounted under the cargo floor. A seven-speed dual-clutch
automatic will be the only transmission offered. Audi's Quattro
all-wheel drive system comes standard on the 2020 A6 Allroad.
In celebration of the 2020 A6 Allroad's return, Audi will produce a
special Anniversary Edition. It will come exclusively in Gavial Green
exterior, which pays homage to the old Highland Green color from nearly
two decades ago. Inside, the 2020 Audi A6 Allroad features Sarder Brown
Valcona leather upholstery with Fine Nappa accents, fine grain ash
natural noble wood, and stainless-steel pedals and footrest. The 2020
Audi A6 Allroad arrives next year.
