We know everyone wants to buy a crossover nowadays. But customers looking for an uncompromising ride, spacious cabin, and top-notch luxurious appointments sometimes prefer to shop among the many full-size sedans on the market. These roomy sedans run the gamut from affordable to pricey, powerful to efficient, and sporty to supremely comfortable.

2020 Audi A8 - $86,195

Audi's flagship sedan knows what its customers want: a quiet, supple ride, a luxurious and well-laid-out interior, and lots of advanced technologies. Open-pore wood mixes with soft leather in the cabin, and drivers will enjoy the digital instrument cluster featuring crisp Google Earth images. In the back, passengers are spoiled with reclining seats, screens, and foot massages.

2020 Dodge Charger - $31,390

The Charger is one of the least expensive large sedans on this list, and it's the best choice for smoky burnouts. Engine options range from a V-6 with 292 hp to a supercharged V-8 with 707 hp. The most efficient Charger gets 23 mpg in combined city and highway driving, but the 707-hp model gets just 15 mpg. The Charger benefits from a spacious cabin and a reasonable 16.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

2020 Genesis G90 - $73,195

The Genesis G90 has come a long way from its past life as the Hyundai Equus—just look at those stylish wheels. Quiet and comfortable, the G90 is one of the best large sedans on the market and can properly compete with the likes of Audi and Volvo. Buyers can choose between two smooth engines: a V-6 with 365 hp and a V-8 making 420 hp.

2020 Kia Cadenza - $34,000 (Estimated)

Sandwiched somewhere between mainstream and luxury, the Kia Cadenza forges its own path in a sea of roomy sedans. It was built for comfort rather than performance, boasting high-quality materials, a smooth ride, and a spacious cargo area. For the 2020 model year, the refreshed Cadenza teeters more toward the luxurious side by featuring a larger touchscreen, quilted seat bolsters, and a host of standard safety features.

2020 Kia K900 - $60,935

If you want a luxury sedan without the Mercedes or BMW price tag, the Kia K900 has a lot to offer. It comes with a bevy of standard features, including Nappa leather seats with ventilation up front and heating in both rows, a head-up display, a 17-speaker sound system, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen.

2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Sedan - $95,245

The S-Class remains the benchmark among luxury full-size sedans, and its high price reflects that status. It benefits from a supremely smooth ride and blistering acceleration on top models. The interior spoils drivers and passengers with 64-color cabin lighting, Nappa leather upholstery, front and rear massaging seats, and heated and cooled cupholders.

2020 Nissan Maxima - $35,175

The sporty Maxima delivers 300 hp from its smooth V-6 engine. The top trim model offers plush diamond-quilted leather seats and bronze interior accents, and it's not a bad value for just over $43,000. With 34.2 inches of rear legroom, the Maxima isn't as spacious as rivals including the 2020 Toyota Avalon (40.3 inches). It also offers less cargo space than the Avalon (14.3 cubic feet vs 16.1 cubic feet).

2020 Porsche Panamera - $88,550

As one of the best large sedans on the market, the Panamera offers brisk performance that only a small few can top. The Panamera exhibits excellent body control and sprightly handling, making it feel like a much smaller car than it is. The standard version makes 330 hp from a V-6 engine, and the top-of-the-line plug-in hybrid delivers an eye-watering 677 hp.

2020 Tesla Model S - $81,190

© Motor Trend Staff

Tesla's full-size sedan beats other electric cars on the market when it comes to both range and performance. The Model S changed the way we all think about EVs when it arrived in 2012, and it's still one of the best luxury cars available today.

2020 Toyota Avalon - $36,830

There's an Avalon for almost everyone. XLE and Limited models are comfortable cruisers, but the Touring version sacrifices ride comfort for sharp handling that's unexpected for a car that looks so sedate. A TRD version kicks things up a notch with a cat-back dual exhaust and track-tuned chassis. Regardless of the trim, it's one of the most efficient large sedans on the market. The standard model gets 26 mpg, and the Hybrid tops out at 44 mpg. The Avalon also benefits from a plush interior with lots of rear legroom.

2020 Volvo S90 - $51,545

© Motor Trend Staff

The Volvo S90 flies under the radar with its subtle luxury cues. Unlike many luxury rivals, it has a simple interior dominated by a large central touchscreen. The plug-in hybrid version is among the most fuel-efficient luxury cars on the market, and the standard V-6 version gets a respectable 25 mpg.
