Cycle World already revealed the new 2021 editions of the BMW F 750 GS, F 850 GS, and F 850 GS Adventure, and now BMW has released the long list of all other models renewed for next year. Most of the innovations are in regard to new colors, new graphics, and new accessories replacing the previous ones.
On the solid technical side the most remarkable evolution is represented by the upgrading of BMW’s most significant power units to Euro 5 emission standards. This is particularly precious in the case of the mighty R 1250 boxer twin, the immortal pillar of BMW Motorrad production. At present, the Euro 5 R 1250 boxer twin is offered on two models of the R line, the R 1250 RS and the R 1250 R.
The revised power units now are fitted with new Sport silencers. The new options list includes a lightweight lithium-ion battery, and the revised Driving Modes Pro now includes engine reverse torque control.
Also the high-performance S 1000 four evolved to Euro 5 standards, but only in the edition that equips the S 1000 RR superbike, while the S 1000 XR still complies with Euro 4 standards.
The list of the options available on the S 1000 RR includes a number of items worth attention: an M titanium exhaust system, sport silencers, M endurance chain, GPS-actuated lap timer, and lap counter. The S 1000 XR offers two attractive options: the same M endurance chain and titanium sport silencers.
All other models are technical carryovers—mainly refreshed in graphics and color schemes.
